More and more large enterprises using the dynamics of open innovation. Open innovation is a management concept for the active inclusions of partners and customers to generate new products and services.
To facilitate the out of the box thinking also for SME, the go-cluster competence networks InnoZent OWL, Food-Processing Initiative and BalticNet-PlasmaTec met in April in Bielefeld (Germany) for the kick-off meeting for the open innovation platform CLOU. This online platform will start in autumn 2015 and will provide cluster managers, cluster members but also other clusters through cross-cluster cooperation with an easier access to more target-oriented expertise.
Where comparable cooperation platforms like LinkedIn or Xing often discourage enterprises with sensitive issues through their broad public, CLOU (Cross-cLuster Open innovation groUps) will rely on the trust-based environment of the clusters. Individual questions and problems of the members can be discussed in various open and closed groups according to theme, occasion or technology.
All three project clusters contributes expertise from different disciplines into the platform, e.g. plasma technologies for surface modification or disinfection, the use of information and communication technologies for the development of cross-linked products and new services in the field of digital business models as well as development-, technology- and processing expertise in the field of food industry.
