BMBF “Connecting to scientific and industrial facilities in India with the focus on plasma technology”
The plasma-technology-oriented network BalticNet-PlasmaTec (BNPT) received a government aid from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the framework “Implementation of marketing activities in the target country India” (BMBF India).
Within the framework of this activity the strengths of Germany in the field of research and development will be marketed internationally together with academic and non-academic science and research institutions, R&D networks and research-intense enterprises.
The BalticNet-PlasmaTec registered association stands for international technology and market-oriented cooperation of science, research and economics in the field of plasma technology and adjacent disciplines. The network has sat down the aim in this project to increase the perception of the German plasma technology in India. The international competitive ability of Germany thereby should be increased by the development of new markets for already existing and new products, services and procedures.
Six different institutions from the basic research over R&D institutes up to the economic realisation united in the course of these marketing activities. The BNPT coordinates thereby cooperation of the Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz e.V., in short “Leibniz-Gemeinschaft”, the largest non-university research institute for low temperature plasma physic – Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP Greifswald), the Roth & Rau AG, the Pfeiffer Vacuum GmbH and H.C. Starck.
The main focus of this activity lies on the contact initiation to innovative respectively to ready for innovation enterprises in the field of metal working, medical technology, environmental protection and the corresponding university facilities. The interest of the participating institutions ranges from the project-related cooperation up to the acquisition of joint venture partner. But also the cooperation with Indian research facilities is from large interest particularly for the adjustment of the technologies in consideration of the local peculiarities. Furthermore the institutes have an interest in cooperation in the field of further education.
In order to initiate and also strengthen this cooperation later, numerous activities in the host country become India, as well as in Germany will be realised. So, for example, Workshops are organised in India and Germany, Indian facilities should be visited on site and Indian partners should be invited to Germany. This project will be present at the “International Exhibition and Conference for Metal and Metallurgical Technologies” from the 16th until the 18th of September in Bangalore.
The partners would like to establish in medium-term and in the long term a long-lasting cooperation in different levels of the Indian scientific landscape. The constancy of the marketing activities should be realised by a systematically integration of Indian partners in bilateral and international activities.
