The Kompetenznetzwerk BalticNet-PlasmaTec registered association (BNPT) stands for technology and market-focused co-operation of science and economics in the plasma technology and adjacent disciplines. Special focus of the technical work lies in the combination of different special fields like e.g. the combination of plasma physics with life sciences or the application of plasmas in environment technologies. Strategic partners of the network are for example the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP Greifswald) or the neoplas Ltd. a high technology oriented SME for technical and economical advancement and market preparation of prototypes.
The partners of the project planned a top-class information meeting for Israeli partners from business, science and innovative politics, in order to show the German research landscape and cooperative possibilities around the field of plasma technology together with the scientific umbrella organisation of the INP Greifswald, the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft and the Germany Trade and Invest the international business promotion corporation of the Federal Republic of Germany. In preparations of this event, representatives of the involved organisations travelled in March to Israel and realised first conversations with leading facilities from complementary areas under the leadership of the BNPT and the aid of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. To the visited partners belonged amongst others: Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, T³ – Technion Technology Transfer, Weizmann Institute of Science, Weizmann Institute of Science, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Tel Aviv University und Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The basis for further co-operation of the partners is laid by these initial contacts. Apart from the strategic development at association or institute level, now scientists and experts from the partner enterprises are in demand in order to agree upon concrete cooperative projects.
