About barthel HF-Technik
The history of our company is connected with many people. It all started with our customers who told us about their fascinating applications even before the company was founded on 17 June 2005 and believed that we could develop a solution. That’s what we did. That’s what we’ve been doing ever since.
It all started in the now proverbial garage. Today we are a team of 27 people. For the most part with technical training. Everyone brings his or her skills to the table. Together, we strive to be relevant to our customers through value-adding contributions.
To achieve this, we keep things simple and decision-making short. We shape the intern relationships as well as the relationships to our customers, partners and deliverers in a positive way.

Plasma Technology
For Plasma Technology we provide Radio Frequency Generators, Matching Networks, RF Broadband Generators, and Low–Frequency Generators. These products are suitable to be used for ICP and CCP systems. They have been applied successfully in
- Plasma Assist for Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD)
- Atomic Layer Etching
- RF Sputtering
- Thin Film Coating
- PE-CVD
- Reactive Ion Etching (RIE)
- Substrate Biasing
- Electrical Asymmetry Effect (EAE) / Voltage Waveform Tailoring
Spectroscopy
For Spectroscopy we provide Radio Frequency Pulse Power Amplifiers – narrowband for Hydrogen and broadband for X-Core detection –, highly stable Current Sources – e.g. Shim Power Supplies and Low Noise Amplifiers. They have been applied successfully in
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance NMR
- Electron Spin Resonance ESR
- Electron Nuclear Double Resonance ENDOR
Radio Frequency Heating
For material heating two mechanisms are exploited: the Dielectric Heating and Eddy Current Losses. Our products for RF Heating are customized solutions, altogether. For some applications, the RF Generators and Matching Networks shown in the Plasma Technology section are also suitable for RF Heat.
Dielectric Heating
Dielectric heating is used with plastic material that has significant losses when exposed to high-frequency electromagnetic fields. Practically, this can be exploited for sealing plastic tubes or plastic foils. The latest EU waste regulations emphasise to use mono materials. If selected carefully such materials can be heated with RF.
Eddy Current Heating
Heating with eddy currents has been used with lower frequencies for many years. Especially, when structures are small and thin using higher frequency is much more efficient. For example, aluminum/aluminum bonding can be very efficient and fast with RF.
